چکیده

during subsequent incubation in two experiments. Treatment groups had four replicate incubation trays of 150 eggs each. As expected, hatchability of fertile eggs declined with length of egg storage in both experiments (P<0.01). This was due to increases in both percentage early and late dead embryos in both experiments. Hatchability of fertile eggs was increased by SEU storage and turning during storage in Experiment 1, and by turning 96 times daily during incubation in Experiment 2. There was a consistent turning during storage x storage position interaction for hatchability of fertile eggs that demonstrated that turning during storage benefited only eggs stored LEU. Other interactions suggested that turning during storage and storage in the SEU position worked best with long-stored eggs. Furthermore, the data suggested that storage in the SEU position or turning during storage were equally effective in ameliorating the adverse effects of storage for 14 days.

Identification and Expression Analysis of Two Arabidopsis LRR-Protein Encoding Genes Responsive to Some Abiotic Stresses

AbstractTwo Arabidopsis thaliana genes, psr9.2 and psr9.4 appearedto be highly similar to a phosphate-starved induced gene,psr9, isolated from Brassica nigra suspension cells.Sequence analysis classified the encoded polypeptides asmembers of leucine-rich repeat (LRR) proteins superfamily. The sequence of psr9 proteins comprise a unique N-terminalregion e...

Functional analysis of glycin rich- RNA binding protein, a suppressor of trehalose-6-phosphate mediating growth arrest in Arabidopsis thaliana

Metabolism of the alpha-1,1 glucose disaccharide, trehalose, is indispensable in plants. In the Murashigeand Skoog (MS) medium, trehalose inhibits plant growth and allocation of carbon to roots. A suppressorof trehalose-6-phosphate (T6P) mediated growth arrest, GR-RBP2, is characterized in more detail.Phylogenetic analysis revealed that GR-RBP2 is a protein of likely prokaryot...

Protein coding assignment of the S genes of the avian reovirus S1133.

The protein coding assignments for each of the S genes of the avian reovirus S1133 have been determined. In vitro translation of RNA derived from individual S dsRNA genome segments demonstrated that the largest S gene, S1, codes for the smallest protein, sigma C; the S2 for sigma A; the S3 gene for sigma C; and the S4 gene for sigma NS. No other gene products could be identified. By examination...

The impacts of TRR14 over-expression on Arabidopsis thaliana growth and some photosynthetic parameters

Background: TRR14 protein is a small member of a multi-gene family in Arabidopsis and is the first ones found during screening of seedlings for their resistant to the trehalose sugar. Objectives: Characterization ofTRR14 over-expressed plants with respect to morphological changes, growth and photosynthesis related parameters.Materials and methods: TRR14gene was isolated from Arabidop...

Induction of a robust immunity response against novel duck reovirus in ducklings using a subunit vaccine of sigma C protein

Novel duck reovirus (NDRV) disease emerged in China in 2011 and continues to cause high morbidity and about 5.0 to 50% mortality in ducklings. Currently there are no approved vaccines for the virus. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a new vaccine created from the baculovirus and sigma C gene against NDRV. In this study, a recombinant baculovirus containing the sigma C gene was construc...
